Happy 2022!
This year already started off with a bang for me as I turned 40!
And you know what? I was actually really looking forward to it.
When I think back now, I can barely remember my 35th birthday. What I do recall about that time however is that my anxiety was so bad, I could barely leave the house. I spent a lot of time in isolation, devouring everything I could find about narcissists, in an attempt to make sense of what had happened to me. Going round and round in circles. My mental health was so poorly, I wasn't able to work. And to tell you the truth, I couldn't have guaranteed that I'd still be alive the next day. The few friends I had left even took turns sleeping outside my bedroom door to make sure I wouldn't get up at night and do something regrettable. I thought I had reached the end of my road.
But there was a part of me that refused to accept that. So I kept going.
5 years on and I'm healthy, post-traumatic stress symptom free, run a very successful multi-award-winning international trauma recovery coaching business and am living a life that is so authentically and unapologetically me, only few years ago I couldn't have even imagined.
Wherever you are on your journey right now, keep going! If I could turn this around, you can too. It really doesn't have to be a long and painful road.
Please know that there is nothing wrong with you. You are not crazy! All these things they want us to believe, couldn't be further from the truth. And with the right tools and support, I promise that you can and you will heal from this!
